SAT 23 APRIL: CSS Test Session at FQ, 4:30

12 Apr 2016 by Ian MacKENZIE

CSS Training: Endurance swimmers get a hugh advantage with this kind of training, learning to sustain a work rate right n the Red Line of their Lactate Threshold, as defined by their Critical Swim Speed [CSS].
ThisTest is for DTC members to give themselves a benchmark for training. It’s also for those working to a programme to re-calibrate their level so as to keep pushing their LT speed just a little bit. You probably have a 3k/5k/10k time for running, and you pitch your run training in terms of that… CSS-pace is the same kind of thing: an anchor point around which you can calibrate your swim-training, mainly in order to increase your LT (Lactate Threshold) which will allow you to swim at a faster sustained rate.
You need to book in via the doodle poll – watch outfor an email to Members this week with a link – as places on the TT are limited!
[Essentially: Warmup/400m TT/ Recovery/200m TT]. Poolside 4:15 for briefing, in the water at 4:30 for swimming warmup.
