Sessions in July

28 Jun 2023 by Ellen Powell

An exciting month for DTC as many of our athletes are out racing. In particular, we have great representation at IronMan Bolton this Sunday 2nd July (!!); I hope everyone is looking forward to a day of live tracking :) The end of the month is eventful as well, with the World Series coming to Sunderland on 29th/30th July.

Here is the training on offer in July.

Bike

Thursdays at 18:45, briefing at 18:55 and session starting at 7pm. This month we have:
- Thursday 6th: pacing session on the A688
- Thursday 13th: road session at Ushaw Moor, focus on power and strength
- Thursday 20th: club duathlon at High Shincliffe
- Thursday 27th: road session at Ushaw Moor, focus on power and strength

Not a club session, but VO2 max open water sessions at QE2 lake are continuing Thursdays at 6pm, with the last session on Thursday 20th July. These are great opportunities for beginners with lots of safety cover and warm(ish) water. Wetsuits are mandatory! See FB social page for group trips/lift shares.

Run

Track session with Elvet Striders, Wednesdays at Maiden Castle 7-8pm. Very mixed-ability group – you’ll be sure to fit in!

Happy training!
